Lesson One

After surviving the first night with the puppy, I definitely learned a few things. Like:
1. She loves to sleep on my bed.
2. She doesn't like to leave my sight.
3. She snuggles her little nose into any corner that she can to fall asleep.

But the most important thing that I learned was
DO NOT LET THE PUPPY SLEEP FOR 2 HOURS BEFORE YOU GO TO BED IF YOU WANT TO WAKE UP 2 HOURS AFTER HER IN THE MORNING.

Even though I made her sleep in the bathroom (I don't want to make a habit out of her sleeping in my bed), she took it pretty well and slept through the night. But only until about 7:30 am. Then she cried and I put her on my bed..thinking that she was going to be up for the day. But she quickly wore herself out and fell asleep with me for a couple hours.

This is her shoving her head through the corner of the barricade that I made for her. She ended up on the other side..but obviously was too tired to care. haha

Then once we got up, we went on a little adventure to Petsmart and Petco where she quickly became a celebrity. She is really shy at first..so she was a little unsure of the people petting her..but i kept my hand on her so she was ok. =]

Later on, we had our first bath. Definitely not a success. lol. Being optimistic..I tried using the sink. That definitely did not work. So then we took a shower. She hated it. But she hated the hair dryer more. Poor baby! I am going to have to find a way to show her that baths are fun...otherwise we are going to have a problem.

I wanted to take a picture..but there was no way I could. But instead, here is a picture of her playing with her new toy. Its way too big for her, and takes her a lot of strength to pick up..but she gets it eventually! =]

And last by certainly not least...we decided on a name!! I made Stephen help me decide because I didn't want to pick. I was stuck between Amelia and Olivia. But after much deliberation...we decided on Olivia. =] I love it! And I love her. I am so glad that she has a name now!! Just in time for grandma and grandpa to visit!! I just know they are going to love her. =]
